Myroslav Shkandrij
Myroslav Shkandrij is associate professor and Head of the Department of German and Slavic Studies at the University of Manitoba. He has written on the permutation of Soviet cultural policy, on modern Ukrainian literature and art, and on Russo-Ukrainian literary relations. Since 1991, the year of Ukraine's independence, he has contributed to the debate on critical theory in that country. His publications include The Phenomenon of the Ukrainian Avant-Garde 1910-1935, Russia and Ukraine: Literature and the Discourse of Empire from Napoleonic to Postcolonial Times, Jews in Ukrainian Literature: Representation and Identity, and the CIUS Press book Modernists, Marxists, and the Nation.
