Edward N. Burstynsky
Edward Burstynsky holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto in Modern History and Modern Languages, 1958; a Certificate in Education from the Ontario College of Education (1959); M.A. in Romance Philology, University of Toronto (1963); and Ph.D. in Romance Philology and Linguistics, University of Toronto (1967). Between the Certificate in Education and beginning the M.A., Ed taught high school in Preston, Ontario, and in Toronto. Upon the completion of his Ph.D., Burstynsky was hired as an Assistant Professor in Victoria College and the Centre for Linguistic Studies (1967-1969). He was granted tenure in 1968 by Victoria College, and became an Associate Professor in Victoria College and the Centre for Linguistic Studies in 1969.
