Description
The compiler of this work and the work itself are little know even among professional Ukrainianists. The works sets itself the purely practical task of covering the literature that appeared between 1917 and 1929 in Soviet Ukraine and dealt with Ukrainian culture outside the borders of the Ukrainian republic. The bibliography falls naturally into four major chapters: 1. Ukrainians living under Polish rule; 2. Ukrainians in Romanian Bukovyna; 3. Ukrainians in Czechoslovakia; and finally, 4. Ukrainians outside Europe, including the sizable immigration in America. Chapters are further divided by subjects and arranged alphabetically within these divisions. The bibliography includes a wide range of articles published in the rich Ukrainian serial literature of that time. While each entry is laconic, the work is enhanced by an author/title index.
